ssignment Two Researching the term â€Å"birth tourism† and how birth tourism may or may not impact our system and resources has given me an eye-opening opinion about the matters. 1 Matters being that the 14th Amendment allows for automatic natural-born citizen status for anyone born on U.S. soil. And based on my readings and research the following questions are being ask; 2 1) which areas in the U.S. are seeing the most birth tourism? 2) which countries are seeing the most activity? 3 3) What are some economic pros and cons of birth tourism in the U.S. 2 4) How the 14th Amendment impacts the issues of citizenship and what the arguments are currently regarding a possible reinterpretation of the 14th Amendment? 5) Lastly, my thoughts based on my†¦show more content†¦As for the pros, it can save on healthcare cost for immigrants. It improves on the social services in U. S. and it would allow the local dollars to be spent locally. And the cons, it clearly violates the governmental laws. The strength in the diversity is real. The U. S. has what the women are considering when coming to this country to give birth. The diversity achievements one community at a time to dissuade the benefits is potential for this great country. Being that the 14th Amendment hasn’t been reinterpreted since the late 1960s and we have had an inflation of immigrants come into the country to have their babies it appears congress would take another consider the Amendment. The arguments are that is the U.S. Constitution provide for birthright citizenship? Is birthright citizenship consistent with U.S. traditions?
